No makeup, makeup tutorial

  • As we are move from Summer to Autumn I thought it would be useful to show you how to produce a no makeup, makeup look that is soft & effortless using products that perfect and enhance your skin and lips. It’s a very delicate look to amplify your natural beauty and make the most of your summer colour before we all start needing a heavier coverage. I’ll mainly be using makeup from Perricone MD who have an incredible range of products that combine skincare and makeup, particularly good for mature skins and great for anti-ageing. As always, I love to know what you think and look forward to chatting to you in the comments section below the film.

The aim of Speed Beauty is to introduce you to and provide you with techniques for make up, skin & hair care products. I only show you products that I love and really believe in. Each product I use is heavily researched before deciding to make a film and I try and provide you with as much accurate information as possible. The views on this YouTube Channel are my own and are based on having personally tried the products myself.

The products I use in these films are either bought by myself, are part of my professional kit or they’ve been sent to me by PR companies for review. I am not currently paid for producing the films you watch. Some of the films contain affiliate links in the description, but not all. If you are happy to click on these links to continue support this channel that would be very lovely, thank you.

You should always research whether the products I recommend are suited to you. Everyones skin is different and I offer no warranties and don’t claim to be a dermatologist. Some products are really expensive and an investment purchase so it’s always wise to test product on your skin to check for allergies or adverse reactions before you buy. Some make up & skin care brands offer you samples to take away & try. This is always a good idea before deciding on an expensive purchase.

Caroline, what about swelling in the body. That is something I have and I'm 41.

I learned about Dr Perricone about 15 years ago and have tried to adopt an anti-inflammatory diet to the best of my ability. I've never tried his make-up but this video has me very interested. I love the softness and the no-makeup makeup look. More info on anti-inflammation would be great.

Keto diet is great for inflammation, not for everyone but I've found it great for firming up skin, and losing tummy fat oh and never feeling hungry 😊 Loving the neutral shades, so attractive

Greetings Caroline! So lovely to see you again. I appreciate your artistic sensibility. I’m 61 and have dry skin naturally and with the addition of Retin-A, I do like hydrating makeup where less is more. In this world of cosmetic lines dropping new launches weekly, it’s wonderful to see you using what is best and not always new. Thank you Caroline!

Always a pleasure watching your videos. Yes please, as a red faced Irish girl, would appreciate any anti-inflammatory tips! I love the perricone no make up range too. Sadly the lid of my blusher has cracked so I can’t take it away with me any more. Sx

Doing a 24-48 fast twice a month is one of the most powerful things you can do to reduce inflammation in the body due to it inducing a process called autophagy, where your healthy cells go around your body replacing the damaged cells. Fasting also allows the digestive system to rest as 60% of the bodies energy is used constantly in a state of digestion, resulting in inflammation of the gut because those organs never gets a rest and become inflamed. Other benefits are decrease of oxidative stress, improvement of cognitive function AFTER the fast, insulin sensitivity decreased and going into ketosis and a reduction in fat cells. You do need to have not eaten for 20 hours for autophagy to kick in and 12 hours for ketosis to begin. Start on the 16:8 intermittent fasting twice a week, then one weekend day clear it for chilling and see how long you can go. If you stop eating at 8pm Friday night, then you will spend a good amount of the fast asleep, do by midday Saturday, 16 hours have been completed, then build up to 18 etc. But the bigger fast only needs doing twice a month. It's crazy stuff.

Haha, Caroline. Welcome back. From Donkeys Years to glasses of Rosé to whispering prices, this was such a fun video.

Last month I purchased Dr. Perricone's No Lipgloss Lipgloss SPF15 so I was very glad to see other products from his line being featured. The gloss even has an expiration date. Perhaps the other products do as well??
The final look was great on you. Very flattering. We have had Cle de Peau stateside for some time and it is a terrific line, though I can't attest to anything more than their sunscreen (mineral, not chemical) and lipstick. If you say the texture of that Lip Glorifier is amazing, I believe it. After taking 5 trips to Japan, I know how seriously women there take skincare and makeup. It's an art.

                              Great to see you back.

Please do more about inflammation in the body - I eat too much sugar and want my puffy eyes to go away. The only Perricone I have is the highlighter and I love it - usually use Bobbi Brown glow highlighter (don’t like strong metallics) but it’s perfect and honestly I may never hit pan. Barely have put a dent in it and have had it since last December. I wish companies would sell more minis because these products are expensive and I don’t know how anyone can ever get through one, but if you want to try something else you think about what you already have (I do) and then either pass or get it and feel guilty for having too much, especially since the older ones get put on the back burner and then really never get used up. Bobbi Brown blushes last me FOREVER and when I heard you should toss every 2 years I thought “well that’s most of my blushes, and I’m going to go broke replacing them all, so what’s the point of having more than one, ever?”
How do you keep the liquid products from settling into smile lines around your eyes? I’m noticing the creases can seem more prominent with cream products.
I love your effortless beauty - you don’t obsess over every little thing you see up close (it’s why it takes me SO long to get ready and I’m really getting tired of wasting my life in the mirror.). Thanks 👍👍

Also may I ask what sunscreen you use ? I’m having difficulty going for the natural look because I either get a bit too covered from my Australian gold or a tad too shiny from Laroche both of which I allow to dry for 20 minutes. I can’t use powder I’ve tried them ALL except for the most minute amount around my nose because I am heavily wrinkled 🙏🏻

Unlike the heavy full face makeup which dominates youtube, this is a very wearable look for work or popping to the shops etc. I love makeup, but I'm not comfortable wearing layers and layers everyday on my 47 year old dry skin. Don't get me wrong everybody should wear as much or as little as they want to, plus I love the artistry of beautifully blended multiple eyeshadows looks etc. My own particular lifestyle doesn't need a full makeup everyday. I really love the beauty of just enhancing well cared for skin and minimising imperfections. This is a beautiful look and I like the perricone makeup line for everyday natural looks. The only criticism about the line is the poor shade selection, as they are beautiful textures. Unlike the skincare which is very high priced, the makeup is comparably priced to other high end brands. Many thanks.

I recently finished a bottle of this foundation ... or at least, try to finish it - impossible to get the last few days out of this bottle, so wasteful. And it's not cheap! But I do like it for when you may have caught the sun and your skintone has changed.

So yes, always grateful. I’ve never used any of his products but have always wanted to. I actually almost purchased the foundation not too long ago but didn’t. Everything’s just so lovely. Yes, would love to see a 360 type video about our bodies, inside and out.
